Policies of the Southwest Ohio YMCA Swim League
Sep 1998

The following policies have been adopted by the League and are guidelines for every person and team in the league.

NO LENIENCY IN STROKE JUDGING OR TURN JUDGING FOR ANY AGE GROUP
Leniency should not be considered for any age group. Every age group is judged with the same rules. Call every violation that you see. Swimmers should not be entered in events which they can not swim legally.

MEET RESULTS SHOULD BE PRINTED IN PUBLICATION ORDER.
This makes finding times easier when they are needed for proof of time. It does inhibit us from handing out results by the day, but it is easier in the long run. Meet results must be signed by the referee. Last word we had was that first page is sufficient. Mike Leonard is checking on this.

WARM-UP MONITORS ARE REQUIRED FOR DUAL MEETS AND INVITATIONALS.
Do not forget to assign them. You should not have swimmers in the water without warm-up monitors.

The following information can be found on the web. (www.swyswim.org) We have not distributed copies this year.

  • Standard order of events for a dual meet
  • League Rules and Regulations
  • League Constitution
  • Qualifying times
  • Records
  • Calendar
  • Minutes (we would like to eliminate mailings if everyone could access the web)
We prefer this means of communication as it can go up on the web and reach many people where we mail to 150 people and still miss some.
