Devotions: Toby Boedeker

Minutes from the May Meeting have been posted to the web. Approved unanimously. Toby Boedeker, Tom Janszen.

Introductions -- all in attendance introduced themselves.

Roster -- The 2002 Roster was distributed for corrections.

Treasurer Report: Dave Johnson. We have about $9,000 in our checking account. Our insurance bill is due soon, which will take a big part of that account. We do have $20,000 in CD's. Francis will order awards soon and we will have to move some money out of CD's. Dave has written the checks for payback of awards. They will be distributed Thursday.

Long Course 2002 - It was a good meet. - We have juggled the order of events a little so that all nights are about the same lengths. We are looking into the possibility of starting earlier on Sunday evening. Everyone needs to impress the officials that it is necessary to check in early. Officials must report at least 45 minutes before the meet begins.

Awards - Francis will order awards for next year. The design will be slightly different for next year, as we cannot have anything touching the block Y. Each team should check their team's awards to see if they are in compliance. We will remove the block Y from our medal and retain the swimmer in the state of Ohio. We will Change the name in the circle surrounding the Ohio with Southwest Ohio YMCA Swim League Championships.

Long course Nationals - Our league did very well at long course Nationals. Powel Crosley won the men's division and M E Lyons won second over all.

Swimposium October 5, 6, 7, 2002 -- Information is posted on our web site and the OHSAA web site. Principles will be offered on Sunday morning. We are no longer financially supporting the teams that attend at the Swimposium.

Mike Leonard will also teach Principles Tuesday October 22 at the Resource Center. Time 6 - 10 PM.

New teams - Southeast (Indiana), Lakota YMCA, Union, Bellefontaine. Francis Parrish made a motion to accept all four team into the league. Tom Janszen seconded. The group voted unanimously to accept the teams as members. Their first year dues are $75, which includes a $50 initiation fee and $25 dues.

Dues - Motion to waive annual dues this year by Bill Whatley with a second by Chris Konerman. Unanimously approved.

Bid Process - We are working on a Bid Process for any team desiring to host a league meet. The process is not defined yet. It should be ready in about two weeks.

A meet - we did strike out on Miami, but it is an option for the future. We have 3 pools possible, Springfield, Countryside and M E Lyons. We took a poll at the meeting and it looks like we will have more than 1300 swimmers in the A meet. This means that it would be more comfortable to host three A championships so we could use all three sites. Division of sites will be posted on the web.

AA Championships -- Miami -- March 7, 8, 9, 2003. Same Qualifying times. Format the same.

Zones - March 21, 22, 23, 2003 Canton, Ohio -- Blue Ash and Powel Crosley hosting. Hotels and meet information are on the web.
